Our days in Madagascar has come to an end and it feels sad to leave. It’s been an a amanzing trip in sp many ways and I’m very happy to have explored this little island. Madagascar has been on my bucket list for a long time and there are still so much I would like to explore here. Our last 2 nights was spent in a beautiful hotel on top of hill in the south of Nosy be. The hotel is all new (opened in June) and was just absolutely amazing.
With 10 min walk we were down in the village or on the beach but at the hotel, it feels like we are in the middle of nowhere just surrounded by peace and calm.
The Beach in this area is not the top and the streets around this beach are known as the party place. This is where the clubs and nightlife are but also you can find a lot of the “working girls” here and this area is called Amabataloaka.
There are a story about this place and this beach that we just recently found out and I think I will write more about that when I do a recap of the whole trip but yeah, the area in it self - not our favorite but I’m very happy we got to explore this side of the island as well.
I love walking around in the villages with the camera and capture some “in the moment” shots. You can tell that some really don’t like this camera but some loves it and every time I do a close up portrait I always ask for permission. I do feel very safe on this island and I’m not worried when I walk around with the camera in my hand. In some places and countries I would never do it but I do feel that Nosy be is very safe and a lot of locals has told us that too.
I really hope I can come back to Madagascar at some point in life. I would love to explore more of the main island but also see if Nosy be as an island will develope and how.
So for this time it is thank you Madagascar and next stop -> South Africa to visit our friends at their private safari lodge and spend new years there!
